How To Make Your First $10 Online (WITHOUT a Storefront or a Large Audience)
You know that moment when you decide “Okay, it’s time… I want to start making money online.”
So you dive down the Google rabbit hole.
You apply to the Amazon affiliate or influencer program (maybe twice). And you get denied (again.)
Then you think, “Okay, fine, maybe I’ll try Pinterest…” - only to realize it’s a long game and could take months before you see a single click or dime (with tons of upfront work).
And with TikTok and Instagram feeling like a rigged system lately unless you already have an audience or needing to post 4-5x a day, you’re left hoping maybe you’ll go viral just once - just to make a few extra dollars.
(And spoiler alert - I’ve gone viral multiple times and you don’t make a cent until you’re in the creator program… which again… you need 10k+ followers…)
Been there.
But here’s the truth that changed everything for me:
you don’t need a storefront, a viral post, or a massive following to make your first $10 online.
You just need to share what you already love… and give people an easy way to find it.
Before You Start: You actually don’t need a niche
Here’s the thing no one tells you… you don’t need a “perfect niche” or fancy brand colors to start earning affiliate income.
Start with what you already talk about with your friends:
the snack your kid actually eats in the car
the leggings that survived potty training
the planner that makes you feel organized (even if your house isn’t)
The magic of affiliate income isn’t in having a niche… it’s in showing up consistently around the things you genuinely use and love.
So if you’re waiting until you “figure out your brand” -
How to Make Your Lists More Clickable
There’s one small trick that separates a list people scroll past… from one they actually click through.
It’s specificity.
Instead of:
❌ “Toddler Favorites”
try:
✅ “Toddler Favorites That Keep Him Busy While I Drink My Coffee”
Instead of:
❌ “Kitchen Must-Haves”
✅ “Kitchen Tools That Save Me 10 Minutes Every Morning”
Every time you make a list, ask yourself:
“What problem does this solve for another mom?”
If your title answers that — you’re golden.stop waiting. You already have one. It’s called being a real human.
Step One: Start With What You’re Already Doing
If you’ve ever said “where’d you get that?” to another mom… you already understand how affiliate income works. It’s word-of-mouth marketing… just online.
You’re already sharing what you love.
The diaper bag that actually fits everything.
The stain remover that saved your couch.
The lunchbox that somehow doesn’t leak.
You don’t need to sell anything new: you just need to make sure you’re getting credit for the recommendations you’re already giving away for free.
Step Two: Forget the Storefront…You Just Need a List
Here’s where most people overcomplicate it. They think they need a “storefront” or a website before they can start.
Nope.
All you need is a Benable account - a simple, free tool where you can create lists of your favorite products and share them.
Think:
“Things That Keep My Toddler Busy”
“My 5-Minute Mom Morning Routine”
“Easy Dinner Staples I Always Keep on Hand”
You add your links, hit publish, and now every time someone clicks through and buys something, you earn a small commission.
And here’s the best part: The people browsing Benable are already there looking for recommendations… meaning they’re ready to buy.
So it’s not about chasing followers. It’s about being findable.
Step Three: Keep It Simple (and Fun)
You don’t need a marketing degree to do this well. The best performing lists are the ones that sound like they came straight from your group chat.
Instead of “Toys,” try “Screen-Free Toys That Actually Buy Me Time to Work.”
Instead of “Skincare,” try “My Morning Routine That Makes Me Look Alive on 4 Hours of Sleep.”
Add one-liners that feel human, like:
“We’ve bought this twice… it’s that good.”
“This has survived more toddler drops than my sanity.”
The more real you sound, the better it performs. And a little tip? Everytime you make a list, ask yourself: “what problem does this solve for…”
And if your list title answers that - you’re good to go.
Step Four: $10 is Just the Beginning
Most moms I know who start on Benable make their first few dollars in the first week -without posting anything new.
They just link what they already use, love, and talk about anyway.
It’s proof that you don’t need to go viral. You just need to start.
Because those $2 and $5 days add up - and they’re often the first dollars that make you realize, “Wait, I can actually do this.”
Your Simple Next Steps
Create a Benable account (it’s free and takes 2 minutes).
Make your first list using something you’ve already recommended this week.
Add personality. Pretend you’re texting your best friend.
That’s it.
And if you want to go deeper - my upcoming 5-Day Benable Kickstart Challenge is going to walk you through every step (even how to write your descriptions so they sound like you).
